A Young Man's Journey Through World War II by Thurlow Weir
Author's account of his combat service in the U.S. Air Force during World War II

Following thirty-five years practicing dentistry in Chico, California, Thurlow Weir retired to the peace and quiet of the mountains and forests near Forest Ranch, California. Aside from his brief military experience in World War II and his long professional career in dentistry, he was able to lead a varied life in secondary vocational pursuits: wholesale beer distributor, Arabian horse breeder, almond orchardist, deep water sailor, a partner in a fixed-base operation and aircraft dealership at the Chico Municipal Airport, and delivering motor homes for thirteen years following his retirement from dentistry. As evidenced by his World War II memoirs, he steadfastly stayed in touch with people he met throughout his lifetime.
